OUR STORY
The idea for Someone Needs You started in 2015, when I was a senior in high school looking for a way to inspire my classmates. One day, I saw a small black-and-white sign that read:
“Buckle up! Someone needs you.”
The words stuck with me. From then on, I ended every morning announcement with them. At graduation, my friend — the Student Body President — made Someone Needs You the centerpiece of his speech. That’s when I knew: these three words could change lives.
Over the next few years, I shared the phrase everywhere — on sticky notes, cork boards, in journals, and in conversations. But in 2018, the message stopped being just something I said to others. It became something I desperately needed to hear myself.
Life hit hard. I struggled with depression, anxiety, and feelings of being lost. Even small daily tasks felt like mountains. But in the middle of that darkness, I held onto Someone Needs You. I made a logo, printed stickers, and handed them out one by one — because I believed, even if I couldn’t see my own worth, someone else might see theirs through these words.
Here’s what I learned:
It’s easy to believe you matter when life is going well. But when you’re struggling — when you need help just to get through the day — that’s when you most need to remember: someone still needs you.
Why? Because even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference no one else will notice — but the person you helped will never forget. This truth has been proven to me over and over, through friends who called when I was at my lowest, strangers who listened without judgment, and quiet moments with loved ones who simply stayed by my side.
The "SOMEONE NEEDS YOU" message exists to remind you — in every season of life — that you matter infinitely.
Right now, someone you pass today might need this reminder
